St. Patrick's holds many events throughout the year beyond our masses & sacraments. These are just a  few of our larger events that are held annually.

St. Patrick’s Parish Auction is held annually on the first Sunday in November. This is the most substantial fundraising event for our parish and school.  For questions or if you wish to volunteer, contact the Development Director, Jennifer Wallwey or call the parish center at 402-336-1602. 

 

Planning for this event begins in August. There are volunteers who compose the auction committee that work with the Development Director in coordinating this event.  They meet 1-2 times a month to determine further volunteers, solicitation possibilities, and the overall structure of the auction. 

 

The event begins at 10:30 with lunch served by the Home and School Association. The Auction itself begins at noon. Area professional  auctioneers donate their time to auction off the items in the auction ring.  Individuals and businesses donate items or gift certificates any time throughout the year. Items may also be donated on the day of the auction.

When participants arrive at the gym the day of the auction, they receive a bidding number.  They may also purchase raffle tickets for various raffles held annually.   In the past, raffles have included TV’s, a deep freeze with meat, an iPad, a Kindle Fire, a lawn mower, a gun safe, etc. Those raffle tickets are also sold through the parish office for the 6 weeks preceding the auction. 

 

Food is available for purchase, including full meals, snacks, and drinks are available.

 

The money raised from this event goes towards offsetting the cost of operating St. Patrick's Parish & St. Mary's Catholic Schools.

 

There are many opportunities to donate your time and talent to this wonderful event:

  • donating an item, gift certificate, or cash

  • being on the auction committee

  • soliciting businesses for gifts and donations

  • working at the concession stand or food tables

  • supervising the raffle tables

  • marking items with bid tickets

  • working in the office to collect money for purchases

  • working in the auction ring

The $10,000 Raffle began in 2010, and expanded to include a "Casino" Night Fundraiser in 2016.  It is held in April every year at the Knights of Columbus Hall in O’Neill. You can purchase a ticket for $100 for a chance to win $10,000. This ticket will also admit 2 people to the event where there is free food, entertainment, and a cash bar. You need not be present to win.  Tickets are available by calling the Parish Office at (402) 336-1602.

Only 250 tickets are sold. Anyone may buy tickets for a chance to win including alumni, non parishioners, etc.

The first ticket/name drawn will win $1,000. The 125th ticket will win $500. The 50th, 100th, 150th, and 200th ticket/name will win $200 each. The 250th ticket/name (last ticket drawn) will win $10,000!!  For those who attend the festivities, there will also be opportunities for fun prizes like Kitchenaid Mixers, date night packages, and firepits!

 

Proceeds from this raffle go to benefit school projects.

To assist with the raffle, we have many stewardship opportunities: Ticket sales, making food, serving food, assisting with the raffle drawing, helping to decorate, working as a 'dealer',  helping clean up, and of course buying a ticket.

In the fall, we have a Back to School Saturday night mass followed by a potluck dinner and lots of games & entertainment for the kiddos! This great event is for all of our parish family!
